A.Tosh’s journey towards excellence began back in 1897. It has been carrying a history of pre and post-independence business culture of India. While going back to the history, it will not at all be flattering to say that A. Tosh brought the fine tea culture of Calcutta into limelight for the first time. In 1948, when the fourth store was opened at New Market in Calcutta, Balailal Ghosh being the heir from the second generation of Tosh family established the culture of forging meaningful relationships to take the business out of Indian subcontinent.
During a time within 1957 to 1960, A. Tosh spread their business networks across USSR, UK, Netherlands, Iraq, Poland, Iran and Egypt as the first company from India to supply tea in Russia and European countries. A.Tosh took the opportunity to present a range of Tosh’s tea to Queen Elizabeth on her First visit to India in 1961. In that same year, A. Tosh gifted their finest blends to Yuri Gagarin and his wife during their India tour after their first ever space venture. The trading and exports gradually increased and turned them into bulk tea suppliers across both the national and international networks.
Around 1992, import and warehouse business started to flourish which led towards development of strong business relationships with eminent tea brands based on bulk tea supply.
