Prepare for the 2021 Hurricane Season Now!

South Florida has it all. We have beaches, sunshine, fishing, boating, and high temperatures year-round. However, along with that beautiful weather, our southern state also brings with it tropical storms and hurricanes. Did you know that the experts are predicting an "above average" hurricane season this year? A total of 17 named storms, eight hurricanes, and four major hurricanes are expected this season. This is slightly above the 30-year average of 15 named storms, seven hurricanes, and three major hurricanes. If you have lived in the Miami area for long, you know we'll get at least one of those crossing our path. In fact, we will be lucky if we only get one!

"Do I really need to worry about that right now?" you may be wondering. Yes! You really do. While the official Atlantic hurricane season runs from June through November, no one told hurricanes that. Storms often develop outside those months, as was the case in the previous six seasons and 10 of the past 18 seasons since 2003. In 2020, Tropical storms Arthur and Bertha each formed in mid- to late May. That means you have only around a month until it begins. That doesn't mean sit around for a month, it means get planning now!

A record 11 storms made landfall in the U.S. in 2020, including six hurricanes. You want to be proactive, not reactive. Your family and your possessions are too precious to leave their protection up to chance. That means looking into impact windows in Miami now, before the 2021 hurricane season actually begins. Both hurricane shutters and impact windows offer storm protection. Good luck hiring someone to put your hurricane shutters up once our area is officially in the path of the storm, though! Impact windows only require one-time installation, not to mention there is virtually no storm preparation at all.

Once the winds start blowing, everything from tree branches to your neighbor's deck chairs will start flying. The industry's top impact windows consist of several layers of glass or other synthetic materials that make shattering and penetration more than just difficult.

There's many reasons to upgrade your current windows to something a lot better. In fact, hurricane season is only the beginning! Impact windows in Miami also offer protection from our fierce sun, which lowers your monthly electric bills, and makes it nearly impossible for anyone to break into your home. These windows provide the highest level of protection to your home and it’s interior valuables.

Wooden windows for sale can be more than just beautiful; they can keep you, your family, your pets, and your possessions safe during a hurricane. Once your new windows are installed, you'll wonder why it took you so long to finally make the switch. As hurricane season approaches, all you will need to do is keep a supply kit and bottled water in your garage. Whatever the weather channel shows heading your way, you won't need to panic at all.
