2020 was miserable and awful but at least it was novel. None of us had ever lived through a pandemic before and, thanks to the hard work of Boris Johnson’s government, tens of thousands of us didn’t.
But 2021 was just as rough. The January lockdown began the year with a long prison stretch, summer holidays were crap and in Britain, and Brexit’s starting to bite.
